Arcana
The cards that give Pantheon stats, item level and extra skill levels from level 45: which ones exist and how to get, enhance and craft them.
What Arcana are
Arcana are cards you equip like gear. Every card type has exactly one slot, and there are five of them on Global at launch. The system opens at level 45; before that you can’t wear a card.
A card gives you three things at once:
- a Pantheon stat, determined by card type and set,
- one to four skill lines that raise certain abilities of your class by levels,
- its own item level, which is added to your character’s item level.
The Global client contains five more card types (Scale, Key, Hourglass, Dice, Lantern). They aren’t available at launch.
The five card types
The card type decides which kind of ability its lines can improve. Every type comes in two versions, “of Vitality” and “of Magic”. The version determines the Pantheon stat and the set.
| Card | Lines improve | Pantheon stat (Vitality) | Pantheon stat (Magic) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chalice | active and passive abilities | Time [Siel] | Space [Israphel] |
| Parchment | active abilities | Life [Yustiel] | Fate [Marchutan] |
| Compass | active abilities | Freedom [Vaizel] | Death [Triniel] |
| Bell | passive abilities | Justice [Nezekan] | Destruction [Zikel] |
| Mirror | passive abilities | Illusion [Kaisinel] | Wisdom [Lumiel] |
Parchment and Compass split your class’s active skills between them, Bell and Mirror the passive ones. So which skill sits on which card is fixed. Only the Chalice can hit any ability, but in exchange its chance of a specific skill is the lowest.
What the Pantheon stats do
| Stat | Raises |
|---|---|
| Time | Combat speed, Smite resistance |
| Space | Movement speed, block chance |
| Life | HP, regeneration chance |
| Fate | MP, iron wall chance |
| Freedom | Accuracy, evasion |
| Death | Critical hit, regeneration penetration |
| Justice | Defence, perfection chance |
| Destruction | Attack power, perfection resistance |
| Illusion | Shorter cooldowns, iron wall penetration |
| Wisdom | Lower MP cost, Smite chance |
On Global a Pantheon point gives half as much as in the Asian version: 0.1% instead of 0.2%.
Rarity and stats
Every card comes in four rarities. With rarity, the number of skill lines, the Pantheon stat, the item level and the maximum enhancement level all go up.
| Rarity | Skill lines | Pantheon stat | Item level | Max level |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common (grey) | 1 | 8 | 20 | +2 |
| Rare (green) | 2 | 12 | 40 | +3 |
| Epic (blue) | 3 | 16 | 60 | +4 |
| Unique (gold) | 4 | 20 | 80 | +5 |
Every enhancement level adds one Pantheon point and one item level on top. So a Unique card at +5 gives 25 Pantheon points and 85 item level, and five such cards together 425 item level.
All cards are bound to your character. They can’t be traded or sold, but they can be extracted.
The two sets
All cards “of Vitality” belong to the Primal Vigor set, all cards “of Magic” to the Magic Armor set. Bonuses apply from two and from four cards of the same set.
| Set | 2 cards | 4 cards |
|---|---|---|
| Primal Vigor | +60 attack power (PvE) while you have at least 70% HP | +150 attack power (PvE) while you have at least 70% HP |
| Magic Armor | If your MP drops to 20% or less, you get 1,500 MP back; 30-second cooldown | +1,000 defence (PvE) while you have at least 50% MP |
With five slots you have two options: four cards of one set for its big bonus, or a 3/2 split for both small bonuses. Because the version also sets the Pantheon stat, choosing a set is always a choice of stats as well. A Bell of Magic, for example, gives Destruction instead of Justice.
Skill lines
Which abilities a card improves is fixed as soon as you get it. The lines are drawn at random from the pool of its card type; set and rarity don’t change that, only the number of lines.
The lines matter because skill points only take an ability to level 10. Everything above that comes from three sources: the skill nodes of the Daevanion boards, the skill lines on gear and Arcana. Which skills are worth it on which card for your class is in the respective class guide:

Enhancing
Arcana enhancement works through experience rather than success chances: you feed material to an equipped card and an XP bar fills up. When it’s full, the card goes up one level.
| Material | Training Arcana or other Arcana cards |
|---|---|
| Per level | +1 Pantheon point, +1 item level and an extra level on a random skill line of the card KR/TW value |
| Limit per line | A single line grows to +4 at most. KR/TW value |
| Unique requirement | 3,000, 6,000, 12,000, 24,000 and 48,000 XP, 93,000 XP in total to +5 |
| Feeding an old card | An already enhanced card returns all the XP inside it when fed. |
| Tier | Enhancement XP |
|---|---|
| Lesser Training Arcana | 200 |
| Intermediate Training Arcana | 600 |
| Superior Training Arcana | 1,500 |
| Ultimate Training Arcana | 3,000 |
| Exalted Training Arcana | 5,000 |
Where the cards come from
The main source is the two Transcendence dungeons, open from item level 1,600. Each one only gives three of the five card types; the Chalice drops in both.
| Dungeon | Card types |
|---|---|
| Deus Research Base | Chalice, Compass, Bell |
| Shattered Arkanis | Chalice, Parchment, Mirror |
The higher the Transcendence tier, the better the rarity of the cards:
| Tier | Item level | What mainly drops |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1,600 | Common cards, occasionally a green one |
| 2 | 1,900 | Common and green cards, the odd blue one |
| 3 | 2,200 | Green and blue cards, the odd Unique; the Chalice mostly still drops grey here |
| 4 | 2,500 | Green, blue and Unique cards; the Unique Chalice only drops here |
The entry rules for Transcendence and what a run costs are in the Dungeons guide.
Extracting and crafting
Extraction
You extract cards you don’t need. This produces Mysterious Crystal, the main material for cards you build yourself. The crystal is bound.
Arcana transmutation
In the Arcana overview you build yourself a Unique card via Transmute. You choose card type and set yourself there, and you can fix up to two of the four skill lines. The game rolls the remaining lines.
| Base card | 5 Mysterious Crystals and 2,000,000 Kina |
|---|---|
| Per fixed line | 10 Mysterious Crystals and 3,000,000 Kina extra |
| With two lines | 25 Mysterious Crystals and 8,000,000 Kina |
How to proceed from 45
Before level 45 you don’t need to worry about Arcana. Even at 45 the first cards only come with Transcendence, so from item level 1,600. Until then gear is what counts, see From 45 to Ludra.
- Fill all five slots. Every card gives item level and Pantheon stats right away, even a grey one. An empty slot wastes both.
- Run both Transcendence dungeons. Deus and Arkanis give different card types; you need both for a full set.
- Equip a better card right away. Feed the old one to the new one; the XP in it isn’t lost.
- Extract the surplus. Duplicate and weak cards become Mysterious Crystals for transmutation.
- Transmute a Chalice once you have enough crystals. With two fixed lines on your most important skills.
- Collect Unique cards from tiers 3 and 4. They have four lines and go up to +5.
Arcana, Daevanion and gear
| Skill levels above 10 | Arcana share this job with the skill nodes of the Daevanion boards and the skill lines on gear. Weapon, guard and rings carry active skills; armour, necklace and earrings passive ones. |
|---|---|
| Item level | The cards add their item level to your total, just like enhanced pieces and spent Daevanion Crystals. More in the gear guide. |
| Pantheon stats | The two bracelets also carry Pantheon stats instead of skill lines. Arcana are the second big source. |
| Planning | First check which skills Daevanion and gear already raise. The Arcana lines should fill whatever is still missing. |
Common mistakes
Leaving slots empty
Even a grey card gives 20 item level and 8 Pantheon points. Until something better drops, every slot should be filled.
Extracting old cards instead of feeding them
An enhanced card you replace passes its XP on to the new card in full. Feed first, and only extract what’s left.
Only looking at set bonuses
A card’s version also fixes its Pantheon stat. A set bonus isn’t worth much if the stats underneath don’t suit your class.
Copying Asian guides
There, a Pantheon point counts twice as much and there are more card types. Setups from there don’t fit Global.
